2010 Volkswagen New Cars – Auto Shows

2010 Volkswagen New CarsVW introduces new vehicles for the Chinese market as it strives to restore its dominance in the region.

Struggling to keep its leading position in the Chinese market and faced with the task of keeping two very different joint venture partners happy, VW unveils two new cars at Beijing auto show that look familiar to North America and European markets.

The FAW-Volkswagen joint venture early New Bora, another iteration of the last generation Jetta, which was sold as the Bora in many markets and is always available as CityJet Canada.

VW Bora said New design is inspired by the Chinese lion dance, a ceremonial and athletic dance that is supposed to provide opportunities for attendees. design elements Lion dance are incorporated into the rear of the vehicle, VW says.

The New Bora is powered by a choice of two four-cylinder gasoline engines. A six-speed automatic transmission is available. We expect the Comfortline trim level with its chrome package will prove popular. The base model is called Trendline.

VW another Chinese partner, Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp (SAIC), is busy creating new vehicles for its Roewe brand, an offspring of its MG Rover purchase. This could explain why the Lavida compact sedan, developed by Shanghai Volkswagen, moves on a similar architecture. And its wheelbase is identical with FAW New Bora.
